Camp! and certification and stuff

So for the next week I'll be going to Twin Lakes as I do every summer. Fun Right?? Um YEAH!!!! I love that camp. Been there every year since third grade, and I plan to work as CIT next year. Possibley a lifeguard since I am certified now.
(If you didn't know that's what I've been doing for the past week)
Certification wasn't necesarily difficult, but it was kind of scary thinking that I might have to save a life. Then they tell you some frickin scary stories about kids drowning with three adults watching the pool and you kind of just cringe in your chair and hope that never happens to you! But the job pays really well, and there are quite a few pools to choose from to work at. And God knows I need the money! Still only working a max of two days a week and its starting to show on my paychecks...where before they were about sixty to eighty dollars now they are about thirty....YIKES!!!

Besides the job i'm keeping pretty busy with my little projects. Learning how to make hemp bracelets, keeping my garden and bonsai nice, and playing guitar and piano, and sometimes cooking for fun (even though my mom says i'm a dislexic cook it's still fun ;] ). The only thing I have to worry about balancing out now is a sport. I think I might go for swimming this year...I've never tried that before and I think it would be fun. No injuries to worry about there!!! If not I may see about dance, but I have a feeling that one is just not gonna work out for me. If none of those work I'll be driving by then and then I may have enough money to do fencing if I want....it's just that its so far away...

I've almost finished my Kate Winslet portrait and it's looking really good so far. I think I'm starting to get the hang of portraiture in general, but I have an excellent teacher. He really is inspiring and he does excellent portraits. I wish I could put one up to show you, one of them is Elizabeth Taylor and it is quite beautiful. I think my next project will be of Hugh Laurie, or maybe Grace Kelly. I got the pictures all ready to go, just debating which one I feel like doing. For some reason men are much harder for me to draw then women...not quite sure why or if that's weird but it's true!

Well I gotta go get ready for work, I'll try and post again before camp!
My regards,
Katie
